Seaview is a small unincorporated coastal community tucked into the Long Beach Peninsula in Pacific County, Washington. With a population of just a few hundred residents, it has the feel of a quiet, tucked-away hamlet that comes alive in summer with visitors drawn to the Pacific shore. The community is best known for its historic inns, tree-lined streets, and its position as a peaceful base for exploring the wider Long Beach Peninsula, and it sits roughly two and a half hours northwest of Portland, Oregon, and about three and a half hours southwest of Seattle.
Just to the south of Seaview lies Cape Disappointment State Park, one of the most storied corners of the Washington coast. The park is home to two historic lighthouses, the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, miles of rainforest and ocean trails, and dramatic views where the Columbia River meets the Pacific. It is about a ten-minute drive from Seaview and tends to be a year-round draw for hikers, history buffs, and storm-watchers in winter.
Immediately adjacent to the north is the town of Long Beach, Washington, famous for its namesake boardwalk and for hosting what is often cited as the world's longest beach. Visitors come for horseback rides on the sand, kite-flying at the international kite festival, beachcombing, and the small downtown strip of shops and eateries. It is essentially a continuation of Seaview, just a few minutes away.
About a half hour's drive south across the Columbia River, in Oregon, sits the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, with its reconstructed Fort Clatsop and a network of trail and canoe sites that trace the Corps of Discovery's winter camp of 1805-1806. The park pairs naturally with Cape Disappointment on the Washington side, making the Seaview area a hub for anyone retracing the expedition's final stretch to the Pacific. To the north, Leadbetter Point State Park and the adjoining Willapa National Wildlife Refuge offer a wilder side of the peninsula, with quiet estuarine habitat popular among birders and beach walkers.
For a short-term rental owner, Seaview offers an appealing combination: a genuine small-town character, immediate access to one of America's most distinctive stretches of coast, and proximity to a cluster of marquee parks and historic sites. Its location between Long Beach and Cape Disappointment gives it year-round appeal, with summer beach traffic layered over a quieter, off-season market of storm watchers, Lewis and Clark pilgrims, and weekend travelers from Portland and Seattle.
