Yes, short‑term rentals are permitted in the City of Alamosa, but they are tightly regulated.
- Ordinance: Ordinance No. 25‑2021 (effective May 4 2022) amended Chapter 21‑2‑405 of the Municipal Code to create a licensing and zoning regime for STRs.
- Zoning Caps: The city is divided into ten STR zones. In each zone, the number of active STR licenses may not exceed 5 % of the total housing units in that zone. When a zone reaches its cap, new applicants are placed on a waiting list.
