Generally Investor friendly
Colfax allows STRs in most residential zones with a straightforward city permit and modest fees ($75 home‑occupation permit, $47 zoning compliance), no explicit caps, and enforcement limited to standard noise/parking ordinances. The state lodging tax and business registration are routine, and a $1 M liability policy is recommended. The small market size introduces some demand risk, but the regulatory environment is clear and relatively easy to navigate.
