Lebanon is a small city in Linn County, Oregon, situated in the heart of the Willamette Valley. With a population of approximately 17,000 residents, it carries a quiet, working-class character rooted in timber, farming, and the rhythms of rural Oregon life. The city functions as a natural gateway between the Willamette Valley lowlands and the forested slopes of the Cascade Range, making it a convenient staging point for outdoor adventures. Beyond the lakes, the small community of Sweet Home lies roughly 25 miles east and serves as the western gateway to the Willamette National Forest, where visitors can access higher-elevation trails, old-growth stands, and the dramatic mountain scenery of the Cascades.

A bit further afield, Cascadia State Park, about 30 miles east of Lebanon, features a tall riverside waterfall, shaded hiking paths, and a historic settlement-era cabin that offers a glimpse into the area's pioneer past. To the west, the neighboring city of Albany is only about 15 miles away and rewards visitors with a well-preserved historic downtown full of antique shops, restaurants, and the hand-carved Albany Historic Carousel. The central Oregon Coast, reached by way of U.S. Route 20, is roughly a two-hour drive west.

Lebanon's appeal as a short-term rental base lies in its balance of small-town affordability and unusually broad access to recreation. Guests can spend a morning fishing or boating at Foster Reservoir, an afternoon hiking to a waterfall in the Cascades, and still make it back in time for a quiet evening on a residential street.
