East Rochester is a small village in Monroe County in western New York, situated in the greater Rochester metropolitan area just east of the city itself. With a population of roughly 6,500 residents, the village maintains a compact, walkable character that distinguishes it from the surrounding suburbs. It sits along the Erie Canal and is best known for its 19th-century industrial roots, including its historic role as a manufacturing center tied to the region's railroads. It is roughly an hour's drive from East Rochester, well within reach for a day trip into the heart of the Finger Lakes region.
