Incline Village, NV

Incline Village is an upscale unincorporated community and census-designated place in Washoe County, Nevada, situated on the northern shore of Lake Tahoe. With a year-round population of roughly 8,500 to 9,000 residents, the community carries the air of a refined mountain resort, characterized by pine-covered hillsides, lakefront estates, and a quieter, more residential feel than many of the busier towns ringing the lake. It is best known as a year-round outdoor destination, serving both as a base for exploring Lake Tahoe's Nevada shoreline and as a gateway to some of the basin's most popular ski terrain in winter. Incline Village lies about 30 miles south of Reno, the nearest major city, with the drive typically taking around 40 minutes along State Route 431 and US 395.

The defining feature of the area is Lake Tahoe itself, the massive alpine lake straddling the California–Nevada border. The park also serves as a trailhead for the popular East Shore Trail, which winds along the lake toward the Nevada–California line.

In winter, Diamond Peak Ski Resort sits directly within the community, offering skiable terrain with views across Lake Tahoe to the Sierra crest. The resort is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, uncrowded lifts, and a summit elevation of just over 8,500 feet, all within a short drive of nearly every neighborhood in Incline Village. A short drive south, Mt. Rose Ski Resort adds another major option, with the highest base elevation in the Lake Tahoe basin and terrain that appeals to both beginners and advanced skiers.

Incline Village is a compelling base for short-term rentals precisely because it bundles four-season recreation with one of the West's most iconic settings. Guests can walk to the lake in summer, ski from the village in winter, and reach Reno's airport in under an hour, all while staying in a community that feels secluded, scenic, and distinctly Tahoe.
