Seaside Park, NJ

Seaside Park is a small, family-oriented beach borough in Ocean County, New Jersey, set on the Barnegat Peninsula, a narrow barrier island that arcs along the state's central Atlantic coast. A bit farther down the peninsula, roughly 20 miles south of Seaside Park, Barnegat Lighthouse State Park in Barnegat Light anchors the northern tip of Long Beach Island. The 1859 "Old Barney" lighthouse still climbs above the inlet, and the surrounding park offers fishing, birding, and a long, uncrowded stretch of Atlantic beach. Inland from the barrier island, Toms River — the Ocean County seat about 10 to 15 miles west — provides grocery shopping, chain restaurants, a riverfront downtown, and the Ocean County Mall for guests who want a break from the beach environment.
