Generally Investor friendly
STRs are clearly permitted under Montana law (no Marion-specific restrictions) and the main compliance steps are straightforward tax registration and remittance of the 8% state lodging facility taxes, which many platforms collect. The absence of local caps or zoning constraints and the supportive tone of the state framework keep investor risk low.
