Liberty is a historic city in Clay County, Missouri, situated in the northwestern corner of the Kansas City metropolitan area. To the north, Smithville Lake provides additional outdoor recreation, including boating, fishing, and shoreline trails, and is roughly 20 minutes from downtown Liberty.
