About Beulah

Beulah is a small village tucked into Benzie County in the northwestern Lower Peninsula of Michigan, home to a few hundred year-round residents. Set on the eastern shore of Crystal Lake and ringed by forested ridges, it has the feel of a quiet summer-resort community that comes alive in the warmer months. Famous for its towering sand dunes, some rising more than four hundred feet above the lake, the park includes the Dune Climb, the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, and the historic Glen Haven maritime village. The main entrance areas near Empire and Glen Arbor are roughly twenty to thirty minutes from Beulah, making the park a natural day trip for anyone staying in the village.

Just up the road to the northwest, Point Betsie Lighthouse stands on a low bluff at the edge of Lake Michigan, marking the southern approach to the Manitou Passage. The lighthouse and its small surrounding park are a favorite for short walks and sunset views, and they are only about a ten-minute drive from Beulah via the neighboring town of Frankfort, a small port community on Lake Michigan with a long sandy beach, a picturesque harbor, and a popular lakeside park at the end of Main Street.

The combination of a relaxed small-village atmosphere, direct access to a major inland lake, and proximity to one of the Midwest's most celebrated national park units makes Beulah a compelling base for short-term rentals. Visitors can spend their mornings on Crystal Lake, their afternoons climbing dunes or strolling Lake Michigan beaches, and their evenings dining in Traverse City or watching the sun sink over Betsie Bay, all from a single easygoing home base.
