Riggins, ID

Riggins is a small city in Idaho County, Idaho, with a population of roughly 400 people. It sits along the Salmon River in the west-central part of the state and is best known as a launching point for whitewater rafting, jet boat tours, and fishing trips on what locals call the "River of No Return." This vast, largely roadless expanse covers more than 2.3 million acres of rugged mountains, deep canyons, and old-growth forest, accessible by raft, horseback, or on foot. The wilderness borders the town and contributes to the sense of remoteness that defines the Riggins experience.
