Bonifay is a small city in Holmes County, in the Florida Panhandle region of northwest Florida. It serves as the county seat of Holmes County and has a population of approximately 2,700 residents. About 20 minutes east of Bonifay in Chipley, Falling Waters State Park features a dramatic 73-foot waterfall cascading into a sinkhole, one of the most unusual geological features in the state. For a fuller day trip, Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna is roughly 40 minutes east of Bonifay and is the only state park in Florida where visitors can take guided tours through a dry cave system.
