Franklin, IN

Franklin sits in Johnson County in central Indiana, about 20 miles south of Indianapolis along Interstate 65. From Franklin, the drive is approximately 40 minutes.

Back in town, downtown Franklin centers on a traditional courthouse square anchored by the Johnson County Courthouse and the Artcraft Theatre, a restored 1920s single-screen movie house that still shows first-run and classic films. The Johnson County Museum of History, housed in a historic building near the square, traces local heritage from pioneer days through the present. A few miles north along I-65, the Edinburgh Premium Outlets draw shoppers looking for discounted brand-name goods, and the nearby Hoosier National Forest offers additional hiking, camping, and lake recreation within a 30-minute drive.
